POLYMER CHEMIST

As a Polymer Chemist, you will be responsible for the formulation and development of asphalt-based materials and provide technical support for the production and use of these products. In addition, you must also have demonstrated leadership as well as a problem solving capabilities, must be able to manage multiple projects at one time, and must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Previous supervisory experience is also a plus!

Essential Duties

- Responsible for developing polymer-modified asphalt formulations for waterproofing, air barriers, and pavement sealers from the laboratory level to the scale-up for plant production

- Responsible for production and testing polymer-modified asphalt emulsions to meet ASTM and ABAA requirements and specifications for liquid applied air barrier membranes

- Responsible for optimization of formulas, raw materials, and plant process variables to improve process and reduce production cost

Experience Requirement

- Must have at least 5 years of research and development experience in the field of polymer modified asphalt formulation

- Must have demonstrated Leadership capabilities

- Must have experience with development, formulation, and testing of finished products and raw materials

- Industrial experience in other polymer modified chemistry field will also be considered

- Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.

Education and Abilities

- Required to hold an MS degree in Polymer Chemistry/Engineering, Material Science, or related field

- Requires excellent written and interpersonal communication skills

- Knowledge of current laboratory techniques and instrumentation

- Creative problem solving ability and ability to handle multiple projects

- Experience with laboratory reporting and record keeping

2. Proper routing of calls and inquiries from customers and other business associates.
3. Assist with composing routine letters and other correspondence.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITITES:

1. Filing, typing, data entry and other administrative duties as assigned.

1. Outstanding phone and interpersonal skills.
2. Excellent memory and organization skills.
3. Computer application skills. Experience with Microsoft Office a plus.
4. Flexibility to undertake a variety of assignments.
5. Maintain professional and organized work area.
6. Must maintain a professional level of confidentiality
7. Bilingual (Spanish) skills a plus

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. Minimum 2 years experience working in a fast-paced office environment.
3. Minimum 2 year switchboard experience is desired.

1. Notary Public Commission a plus

• Work with the top Architectural and Engineering firms to get specifications on our products
• Conduct group presentations to promote MEADOWS products
• Spearhead addition of MEADOWS products to master specifications
• Call on DOT’s to promote MEADOWS line of products
• Field technical support at the project level
