Acrylic, Slip-Resistant Concrete Deck Treatment
DECK-O-GRIP is a non-yellowing, acrylic-based, high solids, transparent, easy-to-apply liquid cure and seal. It provides a clear, flexible and durable abrasion- and stain-resistant protective film. DECK-O-GRIP also offers improved resistance to most of today’s common pool chemicals. It is specifically designed to retain and enhance the appearance of colored concrete and exposed aggregate surfaces for years to come. The compound contains a slip-resistant additive, which establishes an easy-to-clean, non-slip surface for traditionally slippery areas.
USES
DECK-O-GRIP is designed for various exterior concrete applications, including swimming pool areas and exposed aggregate.

APPLICATION
Surface Preparation…Existing (Old) Concrete: Concrete surface must be clean and dry with all stains, oil, grease, dust and dirt removed prior to application. We recommend ULTRITE® DEGREASER from W. R. MEADOWS for cleaning. New Concrete: DECK-O-GRIP should be applied when surface water has completely disappeared and the concrete surface will not be marred by walking workmen.
Application Method … Mix thoroughly prior to application. Use a sprayer or short-nap roller to apply a uniform film. Avoid puddling in low areas. If puddles occur, brush or roll them out. A standard industrial-grade sprayer equipped with a neoprene hose and gaskets, as well as a 5941 spray tip (or equivalent), is recommended for best results. Occasional stirring during application may be required to keep the particles well suspended. For optimum performance, apply first coat at 600 ft.2/gal. After the first coat has thoroughly dried, apply a second coat at 600 ft.2/gal. NOTE: The second coat should be applied at a right angle.
Drying Time … DECK-O-GRIP dries quickly. Drying times may be extended, depending on application rate, temperature, humidity and project conditions. Restrict foot traffic for at least four hours. Twelve hours is preferred.
Cleanup … Application equipment should be cleaned promptly after use with xylene or toluene.
PRECAUTIONS
DO NOT DILUTE. FOR EXTERIOR APPLICATION ONLY. . Surfaces treated with DECK-O-GRIP should not be applied during high temperature conditions in direct sunlight. These conditions cause rapid evaporation, which does not allow the film to form properly. Under these conditions, the film may peel, bubble and/or turn white (blush).
Do not apply DECK-O-GRIP if the temperature of the concrete is below 40° F (4° C). DECK-O-GRIP is designed for colored concrete, but mottling may occur. Surfaces that have been acid-stained or acid-washed must be neutralized to a pH of seven. Do not use DECK-O-GRIP as a waterproofing sealer on masonry surfaces.
Concrete containing calcium chloride will remain dark longer when treated with DECK-O-GRIP. The specifier and user shall determine the suitability of product for specific applications and assume all responsibility in connection therewith.
HEALTH HAZARDS
Avoid direct contact with this product, as it may cause irritation of the eyes and/or skin. Inhalation of vapors may result in transient central nervous system depression. DECK-O-GRIP is combustible (flash point: 105° F). DECK-O-GRIP should not be utilized in locations where food items are present. Refer to Material Safety Data Sheet for complete health and safety information.
