PAC-IT®
EXPANSIVE DRY PACK GROUT
Description
PAC-IT Packable Grout is a non-ferrous, non-gaseous, non-shrink grout specifically formulated for grouting applications, without the need for expensive form work. PAC-IT is a pre-mixed, low-slump, non-gaseous grout offering high density and strength. PAC-IT offers excellent workability and high one-day strengths in addition to the non-shrink property.
Uses
PAC-IT is ideal for grouting column bases, precast walls, panels, beams, pre-tensioned or post-tensioned pre-stressed member applications.
Features and Benefits
- Furnished premixed…ready-to-use…just add water
- Offers high density and one-day strengths with non-shrink characteristics
- Mixes quickly and easily to desired consistency right on the jobsite
- Features excellent workability
- Requires no bonding agent
- Forms are not required…saves time and money
Packaging
50 lb. (22.7 kg) moisture-resistant bags
Storage
Store indoors off the ground. Keep dry for a shelf life of 12 months. If material is hard or contains lumps, discard in appropriate manner.
Coverage
Each bag of PAC-IT yields 0.43 cubic feet (0.012 cubic meters) of in-place grout using the mix ratio level listed in the technical data section. Note: For grouting application requiring a more flowable material, use 588 Non-Ferrous, Non-Shrink Grout from W. R. MEADOWS. (Refer to Data Sheet No. 380.)

Application Tools
Mortar Mixer | Concrete Mixing Pan | Pointed Trowel |
Application
All grouting should be done using established concreting procedures according to American Concrete Institute recommendations: ACI 351.1R-93 “Grouting for Support of Equipment and Machinery.”
SURFACE PREPARATION…All grout surfaces must be clean and completely free of laitance, oil, grease, other coatings and any other contamination. Unsound concrete must be chipped out, leaving surface level, but rough. Grout area should be saturated surface dry (SSD) prior to grouting. Remove all excess water before placing grouting.
MIXING…Small quantities of PAC-IT may be hand mixed in a concrete mixing pan until lump-free. For large quantities, mix using a mortar mixer with rubber-tipped blades for a minimum of 3 minutes. Use minimum water required to produce desired placement consistency.
| Appropriate requirements per bag: | |
| 7 pts. (3.3 liters) for stiff consistency | |
| 8 pints (3.79 liters) for plastic consistency |
Mix in 2 steps…add 2/3 of water requirement…add grout…after partial mixing, add remainder of water for desired consistency. Thoroughly mix total quantity for 3 to 5 minutes.
Do not mix more than can be placed in 30 minutes.
PLACEMENT…Place by packing or rodding.
CURING…Cure PAC-IT immediately following application using a suitable water-based curing compound from W. R. MEADOWS, or in accordance with ACI 308. W. R. MEADOWS recommends 2250-WHITE or 1130-CLEAR for curing. (Do not use solvent-based curing compounds.) When conditions exist for rapid early water loss, the use of EVAPRE™, an evaporation retarder from W. R. MEADOWS, is also recommended.
MAXIMUM ECONOMY FOR LARGE AND DEEP APPLICATIONS:
Cost reductions can be realized when grouting large areas by the addition of washed, dried and graded pea gravel. For thickness over 2″…add up to 25%, 3/8″ pea gravel.
Safety and Toxicity
