Curing and Sealing Compound (VOC-Compliant)
SEAL CURE is an economical curing and sealing compound formulated from acrylic polymers and quick-evaporating solvents. When applied on freshly placed concrete, it forms a clear, uniform, moisture-retentive film, which simultaneously cures and seals the concrete. SEAL CURE meets the 350 g/L VOC limit for concrete curing compounds.
SEAL CURE is ideal for curing and sealing newly placed concrete in commercial and industrial applications such as floors, sidewalks, service stations, multi-level parking decks, and driveways.
SEAL CURE is recommended for exterior use. It provides a durable finish that is more resistant to chemicals, oil, grease, de-icing salts, and abrasion.
- Permeable film allows moisture in cured concrete to evaporate.
- Can be used on coloured/decorative concrete.
- Retains mix water in concrete to permit complete hydration of the cement paste for hard, dense concrete resistant to staining, abrasion, dusting, and spalling.
- Film remains on concrete surface to permit easy cleanup and reduce maintenance costs.
- Accepts chlorinated rubber- and oil-based paints and most flooring adhesives.

Surface Preparation … Apply as soon as all surface water has disappeared and the concrete surface will not be marred by walking workers. Surface to receive sealer must be dry and free of contaminants. Remove all stains or discolourations.
Application Method … Apply using low-pressure sprayer. An 80° fan pattern spray tip rated at 1.8 L (1.0 gpm) provides an excellent even coating. Please contact sprayer manufacturer to ensure suitability of sprayer with product.
Product should not be applied during high temperature conditions in direct sunlight. These conditions cause rapid evaporation, which does not allow the film to form properly. Under these conditions, the film may peel, bubble, and/or turn white (blush).
Apply product as soon as all surface water has disappeared and the concrete surface will not be marred by walking workmen. Apply evenly over entire surface; avoid puddling in low areas. Restrict foot traffic for at least four hours. Twelve hours is preferred.
Product should not be applied to concrete containing excessive moisture. Entrapped moisture in a solvent-based sealer may cause the film to peel and/or turn white (blush).
Additional coats may be applied once a previous coat has dried.
For optimum protection, apply a further coating of the product and/or apply a coating of HIAC™, or HIAC-PLUS Note: Concrete must be a minimum of seven days old prior to the application of HIAC or HIAC-PLUS.
Note: In cases when product is applied to existing concrete surfaces (more than 28 days old), the variations in colouration of the sands and aggregate present in the existing surface may be enhanced, causing the surface to appear discoloured.
Drying Time … Product dries quickly. Drying times may be extended depending on application rate, temperature, humidity, and project conditions. Restrict foot traffic for at least four hours. Twelve hours is preferable.
Cleanup … Clean tools after use with a solvent such as SEALTIGHT SOLVENT, xylene, or toluol.
For industrial use only. Apply without dilution or thinning VOC content of the product. FOR EXTERIOR APPLICATION ONLY. Surfaces treated with SEAL CURE may become slippery under certain conditions. SEAL CURE should not be applied during high temperature conditions in direct sunlight. These conditions cause rapid evaporation, which does not allow the film to form properly. Do not apply SEAL CURE if the temperature of the concrete is below 4º C (40º F). SEAL CURE may be used on coloured concrete, but mottling may occur. Do not use on dense or non-porous surfaces, i.e. brick, stone, etc.
Concrete containing calcium chloride will remain dark longer when treated with SEAL CURE. Concrete floors properly cured with SEAL CURE meet section 8.9 “Adhesion of Tile Cements” of ASTM C 1315. For other specifications, secure the approval of the paint or resilient flooring manufacturer before applying SEAL CURE. The specifier and used shall determine the suitability of product for specific applications and assume all responsibility in connection therewith
SEAL CURE is a membrane-forming sealer. All membrane-forming sealers may darken concrete or magnify imperfections caused by variations in the porosity and/or finishing of the concrete.
