LIN-SEAL® EMULSION

CURING AND SEALING COMPOUND

Description
LIN-SEAL EMULSION Curing and Sealing Compound is a true water-base, high solids solution of boiled linseed oil. LIN-SEAL EMULSION is a liquid membrane cure for freshly placed concrete that helps retain original moisture to aid cement hydration and assist in the development of high early and ultimate strengths. LIN-SEAL EMULSION is a single application penetrating sealer that protects existing concrete from the effects of de-icing chemicals. It also prevents map cracking, checking, spalling and scaling.

LIN-SEAL EMULSION appears milky-white in the container and when first applied, providing visual identification of covered area. Once applied and dried, it forms a clear transparent film, which provides an impermeable seal for optimum water retention.

LIN-SEAL EMULSION meets maximum VOC content limits of 700 g/L for Concrete Curing and Sealing Compounds as required by the U.S. EPA Architectural Coatings Rule.

Uses
LIN-SEAL EMULSION Curing and Sealing Compound is ideal for use on bridge decks, parking garage decks, ramps or any other concrete surface exposed to water, salts or other destructive substances. LIN-SEAL EMULSION increases the durability of concrete to prolong its life.

Application
Surface Preparation...Surfaces to be sealed must be clean and dry. Remove all dirt, oil, grease, curing compounds and other substances that would prevent the proper penetration of the sealer. Application equipment must be clean and free of any previously used materials.

Mixing…For optimum performance, gentle mixing or agitation is recommended.
DO NOT MIX EXCESSIVELY.

Application Method…LIN-SEAL EMULSION may be applied as soon as the free water disappears from the surface. Apply only in a temperature range of 40ºF to 95ºF (4ºC to 35ºC). Apply with conventional hand or power spray equipment...may also be applied with paving train equipment. Broom off puddles or any excess liquid. Old concrete should be treated annually.

Coverage…Apply at a rate of approximately 300 sq.ft./gal. (7.36 sq. m/L). A second application at approximately 600 sq. ft./gal. (14.7 sq. m/L) is recommended for increased protection and spall prevention.

Clean up…Use soap and water to clean tools and equipment.

Precautions
DO NOT DILUTE. Do not store or apply at temperatures less than 40°F (4°C). Do not use on densely troweled surfaces or on surfaces where darkening of the concrete is undesirable. Do not mix "water-based" compounds with any compound containing solvent. LIN-SEAL EMULSION is intended for exterior use only in concrete exposed to de-icing salts and chemicals. KEEP FROM FREEZING.

Health/Safety Hazards
Materials soaked with linseed oil (rags, absorbents, etc.) may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded. Immediately after use, all materials coming in contact with this product should be placed in sealed, water-filled containers. Refer to Material Safety Data Sheet for complete health and safety information.
