SURFACE PREPARATION
Concrete must be cured at least 72 hours, be clean, dry, smooth and free of all voids. Repair spalled areas, fill all voids and remove sharp protrusions. For additional surface preparation requirements, see instructions for applying MEL-ROL, MEL-DEK, and/or AIR-SHIELD .

APPLICATION
Apply with a roller or brush. Apply only to areas that will be covered with waterproofing membrane during the same working day. Areas not covered with a membrane within 24 hours must be re-primed. Use as is, do not dilute. Avoid allowing primer to puddle, this will lengthen drying time.

Allow to dry until the primed surface feels tacky but does not pick up on your hands when touched, this may take in excess of one hour. Apply membrane as soon as possible after primer is dry especially on dusty, windy job sites.

Note:
Metal surfaces must be primed. They must also be clean, dry and free of loose paint, rust or other contaminants.

Proper application is the responsibility of the user. Field visits by W. R. MEADOWS’ personnel are for the purpose of making technical recommendations only, and are not to supervise or provide quality control on the job-site

CLEAN UP
Clean tools after use with SEALTIGHT Solvent; paint thinner or mineral spirits.

PRECAUTIONS
Do not apply when rain is imminent; on frost or frozen surfaces; when surface and air temperature are below 4°C (25°F) or when weather conditions generally are cold and damp. Avoid allowing MEL-PRIME Solvent-Base Primer to puddle as this will lengthen drying time. Use “as in”, do not dilute.
