JOB SUMMARY:
Promote and train the architectural, engineering, and owner community on the advantages and quality of W. R. MEADOWS products. Assist to raise the level of awareness of W. R. MEADOWS products to the construction specifier. Call on national accounts (building owners) within their territories to secure national specifications. Make personal contact with professional specifiers and architects to promote, sell and generate specifications for products and systems manufactured by W. R. MEADOWS. This position will work, cover, and travel in the geography’s covered by W. R. MEADOWS OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, as an Architectural Representative calling on accounts in Southern California.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct national promotions to chain operations for specification in their buildings
- Assist in development of AIA programs
- Participate in architectural KSI group
- Work with the top architectural and engineering firms to get specification on W. R. MEADOWS products
- Develop specifications on international projects with local architects
- Provide LEED support
- Become a participating member of CSI, BEC and AIA for chapters in designated territory
- Represent W. R. MEADOWS on committees (CSI, ACI, building envelope committees)
- Submit weekly call reports, weekly itineraries, and written follow up to local W. R. MEADOWS outside sales rep regarding sales efforts.
- Provide feedback and communication as to market and industry trends and competitive information to local and regional management, as well as local sales team.
- Proactively develop relationships with architects, spec writers, building envelope consultants to increase demand for W. R. MEADOWS products.
- Actively track projects derived from CMD Construct Connect in the W.R. MEADOWS CRM program. Document sales activity on tracked projects.
- Participate in local sales blitz, sales promotions, new product launches
- Maintain an openness to accept new techniques in product knowledge, training and problem-solving.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in regional CSI, BEC, AIA, and other industry trade shows
- Communicate weekly with local management and sales team regarding sales activities
- Track projects from design development through bidding
- Conduct AIA lunch-and-learn presentations at target architectural firms
- Utilize Construct Connect to develop target lists of specifiers
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Work background should reflect progressively responsible assignments in specification development with both architects and engineers
- Proven ability to present to professional groups
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- PC skills include word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Position involves up to 60 percent travel and necessitates some weekend work
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Minimum of three years experience in product promotions
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
- Active CSI membership or other related industry organizations (AIA, ABAA, ICRI, ACI, IIBEC, ETC…)
