ECO-COAT
Concrete Form Release Agent
DESCRIPTION
ECO-COAT concrete form release agent is a natural oil-based product, which provides quick easy and clean release of concrete forms. ECO-COAT acts as a bond breaker and form cleaner, is non-staining, will not wash off once it has dried, cuts clean-up time, and eliminates voids, defects, and buildup of concrete.
USES
ECO-COAT is used to prevent concrete from bonding to forms. ECO-COAT may be used on sealed or unsealed plywood forms, timber, metal, spiral-wound tube, fiberglass, and plastic. ECO-COAT may also be used to prevent concrete from bonding to paving machines, precast equipment, mixers, vibrators, and other concrete equipment. ECO-COAT is particularly suited to applications where the noxious and flammable vapours of conventional solvent-based release agents are a concern and where a safe, high quality form release is required.
FEATURES/BENEFITS
- Designed as an all-purpose form release agent.
- Will work well under a variety of situations.
- Comes ready to use.
PACKAGING

COVERAGE
The coverage rate of ECO-COAT will vary depending on the method of application and the substrate. The following table is a guide only.
Plywood 12 – 18 m2/L (600 – 900 ft.2)
Timber 8 – 16 m2/L (400 – 800 ft.2/gal.)
Steel 18 – 30 m2/L (900 – 1500 ft.2/gal.)
SHELF LIFE
When stored indoors in original, unopened containers at temperatures between 4° – 32° C, optimum performance and best use is obtained within two years of date of manufacture.
TECHNICAL DATA
Color: Dark Yellow-Amber
Application Temperature: Greater than -10o C
APPLICATION
Surface Preparation … Ensure that forms are clean, dry, and smooth. If plywood edges are worn, apply a coat or two of ECO-COAT to the edges.
Application Method … ECO-COAT is suitable for application by sprayer (such as a Chapin 1949), roller, brush, or rag. A low-pressure spray nozzle with a 0.379 LPM (0.1 GPM) spray rate is most commonly used.
Apply ECO-COAT using care not to over-apply. Surface retardation may result from over-application. Two light coats are preferable to one heavy coat. Apply second coat at right angles to the first. Allow a few minutes to dry before placing concrete. All forms should be recoated before each subsequent use.
