**THIS PRODUCT IS FOR SALE AND USE IN CANADA ONLY**
521 SEALMASTIC rubberized emulsion coating is a chemically emulsified, asphaltic coating/adhesive. It dries to a flexible, tough, dampproof coating. With the addition of reinforcing fabric, it can also be used as a waterproofing coating. 521 SEALMASTIC is particularly suited for use on expanded and extruded polystyrene or any substrates which would be subject to breakdown with the use of cutback asphalt coatings.
USES
521 SEALMASTIC is designed for use on concrete, wood, masonry, gypsum, and rigid and fiberglass insulation. It is well suited for use on wood basements. It can also be used to adhere polyethylene film to a variety of substrates. 521 SEALMASTIC is a versatile dampproofing material and is compatible with both extruded and expanded polystyrene.

COVERAGE
Dampproofing: 1.5-2 m²/L (75-100 ft.²/gal.)
Waterproofing: 1 m²/L/ply (50 ft.²/gal./ply)
Depth | # of Plies |
to 3m (9.8 ft.) | 2 |
to 6m (19.7 ft.) | 3 |
to 9m (29.5 ft.) | 4 |
For depths greater than 9 m (29.5 ft.), add one ply for each additional 3 m (9.8 ft.). This table is a guide only. Individual design analysis is required. Waterproofing emulsion can be sprayed; please consult technical representative for recommended equipment.
APPLICATION
Surface Preparation … Surface shall be firm and free from loose particles, cracks, grease, oil, frost, snow, ice, and other foreign matter. Surface may be damp, but not wet. Prime with 50% diluted 521 SEALMASTIC. Dilute with clean water only.
As a Dampproofing … Mix thoroughly. Apply by brush, trowel, or sprayer at a minimum rate of 1.5 m²/L (100 ft.²/gal.). Protect uncured emulsion from precipitation. Protect walls with protection board during backfill operations.
As a Waterproofing … Mix thoroughly. Apply by brush, trowel, or sprayer at a minimum rate of 1.5 m²/L (50 ft.²/gal.). Embed a ply of reinforcing fabric into the emulsion; lap edges 50 mm (2″). Apply another coat of emulsion, making sure that no fabric is showing. Continue this program until the required number of plies have been applied. No ply of reinforcing should be applied until the preceding ply is dry. Protect uncured emulsion from precipitation. Protect walls with protection board during backfill operations. Use water for cleanup of uncured emulsion. Use mineral spirits for cleanup of cured emulsion.
