600 ASPHALT PRIMER

DESCRIPTION
600 ASPHALT PRIMER is a unfilled, cutback asphalt for priming surfaces prior to the application of waterproofing or roof coatings. It has excellent penetration properties.

USE
600 ASPHALT PRIMER is designed for priming surfaces to improve the bond of hot or cold applied asphalt coatings. For use on wood, concrete, asphalt, masonry and steel.

LIMITATIONS
Although 600 ASPHALT PRIMER is designed to increase the bond of asphalt coatings to various substrates, it does not replace the need for proper surface preparation.

Complies with CGSB 37-GP-9Ma. To be applied according to CGSB 37-GP-15M.

Working Characteristics
Particularly suited for use on old built-up roofs prior to the application of new roofing materials.
Coverage from 150 ft²/gal (3.1 m²/L) to 200 ft²/gal (4.1 m²/L) depending on surface porosity.

APPLICATION
Preparatory Work
Surface shall be firm and free from loose particles, cracks, grease, oil and other foreign matter. Surface must be free from frost, snow and ice.

Installation Instructions

• Apply by brush or sprayer at a minimum rate of 250 ft²/gal (5.2 m²/L
• Take care that the primer is dry before the application of subsequent coats of asphalt materials.
• Use mineral spirits for cleanup.

Safety Precuations
Contains flammable solvents. Keep away from heat and open flames. Use in a well-ventilated area. Avoid use where solvent odors may are objectionable.
