785 GENFLOR NON-METALLIC FLOOR HARDENER

DESCRIPTION

785 GENFLOR NON-METALLIC FLOOR HARDENER is a silica aggregate-based concrete hardener for use in commercial and industrial concrete floor applications.  It will provide hard, durable floor surfaces.  The product is available in natural or 20 standard colours.

USES

785 GENFLOR NON-METALLIC FLOOR HARDENER is used wherever concrete floor surfaces are to be subjected to medium or heavy usage and wherever colourful, abrasion-resistant floors and non-rusting floors are specified.

NOTE:    Coloured hardeners require 34 – 46 kg/10 m² (75-125 lb./100 ft.²) to achieve a uniform colour.

SHELF LIFE

One year from date of manufacture when stored indoors on pallets in a dry, cool area. Do not store product outside.

APPLICATION

Surface Preparation … The concrete should be sufficiently set to support kneeboards and the surface water disappeared.

Application Method … Broadcast 785 GENFLOR NON-METALLIC FLOOR HARDENER as it comes from the container over the entire surface.  Care should be taken to broadcast it low across the surface to prevent air currents from separating the material.

For uniformity of colour and thickness, 785 GENFLOR NON-METALLIC FLOOR HARDENER should be applied in two shakes using approximately two-thirds of the total amount on the first shake and applying the second shake at right angles to the first.  To achieve the most uniform colour, the floor should not be overworked or worked when bleeding of the concrete is still evident.  A coloured shake must be worked in slowly, carefully, and uniformly for proper distribution and depth of colour.

Allow 785 GENFLOR NON-METALLIC FLOOR HARDENER to absorb moisture and float it into the surface with a wood float or mechanical trowel equipped with float blades in a flat position.  DO NOT steel trowel.  Apply second shake and again allow it to absorb moisture from the floor and then float into the concrete surface.

When the surface has become sufficiently firm, steel trowel to produce the desired finish. Cure the natural (non-coloured) 785 GENFLOR NON-METALLIC FLOOR HARDENER concrete surface with VOCOMP_®-25 from W. R. MEADOWS.    Caution should be taken when applying to dense surfaces.   Contact W. Care must be taken when using 785 GENFLOR NON-METALLIC FLOOR HARDENER with concrete containing more than 3% entrained air and fly ash at more than 12% the weight of the cement.  Both entrained air and high fly ash content can slow and reduce the availability of bleed water.  The bleed water is necessary to wet out the product.  Without sufficient bleed water, the product cannot perform as designed and impaired bonding is likely.
