CS-309™-25
Non-Yellowing, Acrylic Curing and Sealing Compound (VOC-Compliant)
DESCRIPTION
CS-309-25 acrylic curing and sealing compound is a clear, transparent, ready-to-apply, non-yellowing, liquid compound formulated from special acrylic polymers and quick-evaporating solvents that effectively cures and seals freshly placed concrete. The product contains 25% solids. CS-309-25 meets the 350 g/L VOC limit for concrete curing compounds.
Once properly applied, CS-309-25 provides a premium-grade seal for optimum moisture retention. This produces a hard, dense, high-compressive strength concrete. CS-309-25 will minimize hair-checking as well as premature cracking, dusting, spalling, and other common defects that result when concrete is not properly cured. This easy-to-use compound dries quickly and protects the concrete during construction. It resists adhesion of mortar droppings permits easier cleanup.
USES
CS-309-25 is ideal for application on commercial and industrial concrete surfaces, sidewalks, patios, multi-level parking decks, driveways and parking areas . . . wherever you want to simultaneously cure and seal exterior concrete surfaces. The use of CS-309-25 on any exterior concrete surfaces provides a durable, long-lasting finish that has improved resistance to chemicals, oils, grease, de-icing salts and abrasion. CS-309-25 provides an attractive, low sheen finish that enhances the natural appearance of the concrete.
For interior applications, specify and apply VOCOMP®-20 or VOCOMP-25 curing and sealing compound from W. R. MEADOWS.

APPLICATION
SURFACE PREPARATION
Fresh (New) Concrete … Apply as soon as all surface water has disappeared and the concrete surface will not be marred by walking workers.
Existing (Old) Concrete … Concrete surface must be clean and dry with all stains, oil, grease, dust, dirt, and curing compounds removed prior to application.
Application Method … Use a sprayer or short-nap roller to apply a uniform film. Avoid puddling in low areas. If puddles occur, brush or roll them out. A standard industrial-grade sprayer, such as a Chapin 19069, equipped with Viton fittings, a 1.9 LPM nozzle, and fan spray pattern, is recommended. Apply over the entire surface; avoid puddling in low areas.
For full application guidelines, please visit https://www.wrmeadows.com/vocapp/.
Mixing … For optimum performance, gentle mixing or agitation is recommended. CAUTION: TO AVOID FOAMING, DO NOT MIX EXCESSIVELY.
Drying Time … Product dries quickly. Drying times will vary depending on application rate, temperature, humidity, and project conditions. Restrict foot traffic for at least four hours. Twelve hours is preferable.
Cleanup … Clean tools after use with a solvent such as xylene, toluene, or SEALTIGHT SOLVENT from W. R. MEADOWS.
PRECAUTIONS
FOR OUTSIDE/EXTERIOR APPLICATION ONLY. CS-309-25 IS FLAMMABLE. KEEP AWAY FROM ALL OPEN FLAMES, SPARKS, IGNITION SOURCES, etc. Use with adequate ventilation and block all HVAC ventilation ducts which may spread product vapors – vapors are flammable and heavier than air. If product odors are objectionable, W. R. MEADOWS recommends using a water-based product, such as our DECRA-SEAL™ W/B or any of the VOCOMP series products. CS-309-25 must be applied without diluting or thinning. Surfaces treated with CS-309-25 may become slippery under certain conditions. To increase slip resistance, addition of SURE-STEP™ from W. R. MEADOWS is recommended.
CS-309-25 should not be applied in direct sunlight, or in high temperature conditions. These conditions cause rapid evaporation, preventing proper film formation, which may cause the dried film to peel, bubble, become hazy, and/or turn white (blush). Surface temperature of the concrete must be between 4° – 32° C at time of application to allow for proper film formation.
CS-309-25 should not be applied to concrete exposed to excessive moisture. Entrapped moisture in a solvent-based sealer may cause the film to peel and/or turn white (blush). Improper or over-application may cause the dried CS-309-25 film to appear hazy and/or white.
Product may be used on colored concrete, but mottling may occur. Do not use on dense or non-porous surfaces, i.e. brick, stone, etc. Concrete containing calcium chloride will remain dark longer when treated with this product. Concrete floors properly sealed with CS-309-25 meet the requirements of ASTM C 1315, Section 8.8 – Adhesion, for ceramic tile adhesives per ANSI A 136.1-1992 requirements. For any other specifications, applications, installations, etc., please obtain approval for use from the manufacturer of the subsequent product/treatment being applied. These products may include, but are not limited to adhesives, mortars, tile cements, paints, coatings, penetrating treatments, etc. The specifier and user shall determine the suitability of product for specific applications and assume all responsibility in connection therewith.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Prolonged inhalation of vapours in excess of permissible exposure limits may result in symptoms of transient central nervous system depression. Direct contact with the product may result in irritation of the skin and eyes. Product vapours may also cause irritation. CS-309-25 is flammable. Remove ignition sources prior to use. Empty containers may hold combustible vapours. Handle empty containers as combustible liquids. In the event of a spill, contain the product; apply absorbents and place in sealed containers. In the event of a fire, contain all run-off water. Refer to Safety Data Sheet for complete health and safety information.
