MEADOW-COAT
Cementitious Coating
DESCRIPTION
MEADOW-COAT is an easy to use single component, polymer modified, cementitious coating, designed to waterproof and protect both interior and exterior vertical concrete surfaces.
USE
MEADOW-COAT is designed for use in restoration, as an integral part of a complete MEADOWS CONCRETE REPAIR SYSTEM as well as new construction. It provides an economical, tough, durable, waterproof coating. MEADOW-COAT may be used on bridges, parking structures, building facades and other concrete structures.
For horizontal applications contact W. R. MEADOWS Technical Services.
MEADOW-COAT has limited resistance to hydrostatic pressure when cured, and is suitable for use in water retaining structures, basements, fountains, retaining walls and floor slabs.

PACKAGING AND STORAGE
MEADOW-COAT is a single component material packaged in 15 kg (33 lb.) bags.
When stored on pallets in a dry, cool area, it has a shelf life of 12 months.
COLOURS AND YIELD
Yield: Each 15 kg (33 lb.) bag of MEADOW-COAT yields 13.86 litres (0.49 ft.³) and covers approximately 27.7 m² @ 0.5 mm (293.7. ft.² @ 20 mils) thickness per two (2) coat application.
The actual coverage will vary based on surface texture and finished film thickness. It is the responsibility of the applicator to do a test sample to determine actual project coverage’s.
Colours: Grey, Light Grey and White
CAUTION
Do not apply MEADOW-COAT when the temperature is expected to be below 5°C (40°F) within 24 hours or when rain is imminent. When applying in temperatures exceeding 25°C (77°F), or windy weather, take appropriate precautions to prevent premature or rapid drying of the MEADOW-COAT.

INSTALLATION
Contact W. R. MEADOWS Technical Services (800-563-3618) for specific project recommendations.
Surface Preparation
Abrade existing substrate to remove all unsound concrete, but do not use excessive force, which may cause micro fracturing, consider sand blasting or the use of high-pressure water. Prepare surface in accordance with ICRI Technical Guide No. 03730. Substrate must be structurally sound and free of grease, oil, dirt or any other contaminants that can adversely affect the bond. Prepared surface must be dust-free and saturated to a surface dry (SSD) condition, free of standing water.
New Concrete should be a minimum of three days old. Repair all surface defects that are to receive MEADOW-COAT utilizing MEADOW-CRETE (for repairs deeper than 13 m (1/2″), or MEADOW-PATCH T1/T2 for repairs less than 13 mm (1/2″). Leave the surface of the patch rough, and clean it thoroughly with high-pressure water before application of MEADOW-COAT. Apply MEADOW-COAT within 48 hours after cleaning.
All exposed reinforcing steel must be treated prior to the application of a repair mortar with two coats of PATCH-PRIME™ Exposed Steel Primer (see data sheet 3900-322).
Contact W. R. MEADOWS Technical Services (800-563-3618) for specific project requirements.
Mixing
Use a mortar mixer with rubber tipped blades or a heavy-duty drill (400 – 600 rpm) with a mixing paddle. Use 6.75 L (1.49 Imp. gals.) of water per bag of MEADOW-COAT. Place 3/4 of the water into a clean container and gradually add MEADOW-COAT powder, while mixing, until a thick creamy consistency is obtained. After initial mixing allow material to sit for 3 – 5 minutes, re-mix and add remaining water to adjust the consistency for application.
Application
Apply MEADOW-COAT in two (2) coats, to a SSD (saturated surface dry substrate), to build up approximately 0.5 mm (20 mils) thick layer. Do not saturate the surface between coats of MEADOW-COAT.
Apply second coat when the first coat becomes tack free, but not later than 4 hours. MEADOW-COAT may be applied with a short nap paint roller.
Contact W. R. MEADOWS Technical Services for Spray Application.
Curing
Cure MEADOW-COAT by air-drying for a minimum of 72 hours.
For interior floor applications, wet cure for a minimum of 48 – 72 hours.
Clean Up
All tools must be cleaned with water immediately after use. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
Proper application is the responsibility of the user. Field visits by W. R. MEADOWS’ personnel are for the purpose of making technical recommendations only, and are not to supervise or provide quality control on the job-site.
