DESCRIPTION
1109 PRO-SEAL HD is a premier asphalt sealer.  This high performance, mineral-reinforced asphalt emulsion sealer is blended with polymers and special surfactants for superior adhesion, flexibility, and durability.

USES
1109 PRO-SEAL HD is designed for driveways and commercial parking area applications, such as fast food restaurants, apartment complexes, schools, shopping malls, and commercial complexes, and also for segregation on new asphalt. 1109 PRO-SEAL HD not only protects but beautifies – makes old asphalt look like new.  1109 PRO-SEAL HD is formulated specifically to protect and enhance asphalt pavement surfaces including commercial and residential parking areas.

COVERAGE
Coverage is approximately 0.86 m²/L (35 ft.²/gal.) for commercial application and 1.23 m²/L (50 ft.²/gal.) for residential application, depending on porosity of the surface. Multiple coats recommended. Allow up to 24 hours curing time between coats.

SHELF LIFE
When stored indoors in original, unopened containers at temperatures between 40° – 90° F (4° – 32° C), optimum performance and best use is obtained within six months of date of manufacture.

APPLICATION
Surface Preparation … Immediately prior to sealing, all asphalt surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and contain no loose material, dirt, dust, and/or deicing chemical residue, etc. Surfaces that are impacted with hard clay, dust, and silt, that cannot be removed by mechanical sweepers or blowers, must be pressure-washed. If dirty surfaces are not properly cleaned, the sealer cannot bond or grip to the surface and de-bonding of the coating will occur. Sources of water runoff, such as landscape irrigation, should be shut off, and the asphalt surface must be completely dry prior to application.

Prior to final clean up and seal-coat application, all asphalt patching, paving, crack filling, or other repair and construction work must be completed. Severely cracked areas and similar surface defects must be repaired as needed with a suitable hot mix asphalt. Potholes should be filled with 1170 ROAD REPAIR from W. R. MEADOWS. Treat all grease, oil, gasoline, and similar petroleum build-up or stains with A-500 OIL SPOT PRIMER from W. R. MEADOWS. Cracks in excess of 5 mm wide should be cleaned and filled with appropriate cold- or hot-applied crack filler or approved equal.

Application Method … Minimum application temperature must be 20° C and rising.  Minimum surface temperature is 20º C and rising with no rain forecast for up to 24 hours.  Dampen pavement with a mist of water or add additional 5% water to the mix design if the surface temperature is in excess of 38° C.  Do not allow water to puddle on the surface.  1109 PRO-SEAL HD should be applied in parallel ribbons with a squeegee or approved spray application equipment. It is recommended that 1109 PRO-SEAL HD be allowed to cure for 24 hours before opening to traffic.  1109 PRO-SEAL HD is best mixed using a 12.7 mm speed drill with a mixing paddle. New (less than 60 days old) or heavily oxidized surfaces should be prime-coated with 1109 PRO-SEAL HD diluted 100% (1 to 1) with water prior to the application of the first coat of sealer.

Cleanup … Clean up tools and equipment with water. Use diesel fuel if material has hardened.

PRECAUTIONS
Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children. In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water. Do not store containerized sealer above 38º C. Do not expose containerized sealer to open flame. Refer to Safety Data Sheet for complete health and safety information.
