Specifying Air Barriers
Thursday, November 16, 2023 – 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM CST
Host: Scott Wolff
This intermediate level course outlines the many inconsistencies of titling, numbering and language used in specifications. It also advises on the use of manufacturer’s complete complement of accessories, much of which are not found in many specifications. What this program is not, is an A to Z on complete specification writing – start to finish. That would require a three-month, full semester’s worth of time. Instead, attendees will be taught to use correct titles, product names and product accessories (per CSI). Ultimately, the main goal is to learn how to utilize available resources to write specifications in a manner that the Construction Specifications Institute refers to as the three C’s: Clear, Concise and Correct. This program is registered with the AIA/CES for continuing professional education, and is HSW-approved. The course earns one Learning Unit (LU). The course also earns one LU in Sustainable Design (SD).
