PC2R PROTECTION COURSE
Waterproofing Protection Course
DESCRIPTION
PC2R PROTECTION COURSE is a 94 mil (2.4 mm) thick SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) modified bitumen protection course. The product consists of a fiberglass mat saturated and coated with an asphaltic and SBS elastomer blend, ensuring a durable, flexible, and easy to install protection course.
This elastomeric asphaltic blend provides high elasticity and flexibility to the sheet. The fiberglass reinforcement ensures high tensile strength, dimensional stability, and puncture- and tear-resistance.
USES
PC2R PROTECTION COURSE is designed to be utilized as a protection course with HRM 714 and HYDRALASTIC™ 836 from W. R. MEADOWS. PC2R PROTECTION COURSE provides protection from damage caused by foot traffic. In high traffic areas with vehicular traffic, or areas where extreme physical abuse is anticipated, use PROTECTION COURSE PC-3 from W. R. MEADOWS. Place overburden within 30 days of application of PC2R PROTECTION COURSE. PC2R PROTECTION COURSE is used in-between slab construction, such as plaza decks, roof terraces, promenade decks, pedestrian concourses, tunnels, parking garage decks, and planter boxes.
FEATURES/BENEFITS
- Supplied in easily to apply rolls – labor savings.
- Bottom surface of the Sanded-Sanded design ensures adhesion to the still liquid-hot waterproofing membrane.
- Top surface of the Sanded-Sanded design provides improved slip resistance.
- Tough, durable and flexible
- Full width fiberglass matting improves flexural strength.
- Easily cut with a roofer’s knife or shears for fitting at protrusions

APPLICATION
Roll out and embed into the hot, liquid-tacky HRM 714 and HYDRALASTIC 836 and over lap 2 – 3″. Light roll or broom into place. For added waterproofing and protection against protrusions, seal all laps with HRM 714. PC2R PROTECTION COURSE should be installed in such as fashion to form a continuous protective layer that is tightly bonded over the entire waterproofing membrane.
LIMITATIONS
PC2R PROTECTION COURSE is not compatible with HYDRALASTIC 836 SL, some Polyether & most Urethane waterproofing membranes, oils and solvents. Where PC2R PROTECTION COURSE is adhered to a waterproofing membrane, use an approved adhesive. Do not apply PC2R PROTECTION COURSE over liquid waterproofing membranes containing volatile solvents until all of the solvent has evaporated. Compatibility to other building materials or products is the sole responsibility of the specifier or end-user. Consult membrane manufacturer for specific application details prior to placing PC2R PROTECTION COURSE. Read and follow application information and precautions. Refer to Safety Data Sheet for complete health and safety information.
