SIL-CRETE™
Lithium-Silicate Curing Agent and Densifier
DESCRIPTION
SIL-CRETE concrete curing agent and densifier is a waterborne, low solids, lithium-silicate-based, ready-to-use formulation which cures and densifies freshly troweled concrete and also can be used to densify and seal existing concrete. When applied to fresh concrete, the product helps to reduce water evaporation and improves the surface integrity of the concrete. It is residue-free and contains no wax, resin, or other materials that would inhibit the bond of subsequent coatings and/or treatments over substrates treated with SIL-CRETE.
USES
SIL-CRETE is recommended for use wherever cured and densified freshly troweled concrete is required, or existing concrete is needing sealing and densification. Ideal applications include floors in restaurants, industrial plants, warehouses, etc.
FEATURES/BENEFITS
- Densifies and dustproofs concrete surfaces.
- Does not inhibit adhesion of subsequent coatings and other topical treatments.
- Will not discolor, yellow, peel, or flake.
- VOC compliant.
- Dustproofs and improves abrasion resistance of treated surfaces.
- Does not form a film.
- Interior or exterior application.
- Meets the moisture loss requirements of ASTM C309 on hard-troweled concrete.

APPLICATION
Newly Placed Hard-Troweled Concrete … Surface needs to be clean free of oil, bond-breakers, cures, dust, etc. Apply after final finishing with a low pressure, high volume sprayer. Spray in uniform pattern using sprayer such as Chapin 1949 with 0.1 GPM (0.379 LPM) spray nozzle; use microfiber applicator to evenly spread out and ensure puddles are spread out. Keep surface wet for 5 – 10 min; ensure that additional material is applied to areas that dry quicker. If excess material is left after SIL-CRETE is dry, it must be removed. NOTE: If subsequent coatings or treatments will be applied, for best practices, W. R. MEADOWS recommends that all surfaces are clean prior.
Existing, Hard-Troweled Concrete … Surface needs to be clean free of oil, bond-breakers, cures, dust, or anything else that will inhibit the penetration etc. For best results, clean the surface by sanding, grinding, or by the use of a diamond adhesive pad. Remove any dust and thoroughly rinse with water. Surface must be thoroughly dry prior to the application of SIL-CRETE. Apply after final finishing with a low pressure, high volume sprayer. Spray in uniform pattern using a sprayer, such as a Chapin 1949 with 0.1 GPM (0.379 LPM) spray nozzle; use a microfiber applicator to evenly spread out and ensure puddles are spread out. Keep surface wet for 5 – 10 minutes; ensure that additional material is applied to areas that dry quicker. If excess material is left after SIL-CRETE is dry, it must be removed. NOTE: If subsequent coatings or treatments will be applied, for best practices, W. R. MEADOWS recommends that all surfaces are clean prior.
Fresh, Broomed Concrete … Apply SIL-CRETE as soon as the surface water has disappeared and the surface is hard enough to walk on. Spray in a uniform pattern using a sprayer such as a Chapin 1949 with 0.1 GPM (0.379 LPM) spray nozzle; use a microfiber applicator to evenly spread out and ensure puddles are spread out. Keep surface wet for 5 – 10 minutes; ensure that additional material is applied to areas that dry quicker.
Cleanup … Application equipment may be cleaned easily with soap and water while still wet.
PRECAUTIONS
DO NOT DILUTE. Do not apply if the temperature of the concrete is less than 40º F (4.4° C). KEEP FROM FREEZING. If SIL-CRETE is accidentally sprayed or spilled on glass, brick, aluminum, painted surfaces, etc., flush immediately with water. Do not over-apply.
