BELLATRIX

Premium Concrete Enhancer

DESCRIPTION
BELLATRIX is a water-based hybrid system, composed of unique polymers, specifically formulated to provide the dual actions of penetrating and topical protection for concrete that has been previously densified. When used in conjunction with hardened concrete floor systems, such as LIQUI-HARD® and the INDUROSHINE™ polished concrete system from W. R. MEADOWS, BELLATRIX produces a clear, high gloss barrier, offering optimum protection for concrete.

BELLATRIX’s proprietary technology provides increased stain suspension and resistance against most contaminants found in kitchens, retail food stores, restaurants, malls, garages, warehouses, distribution centers, etc.  BELLATRIX meets the very strict maximum VOC content limits of 100 g/L for sealers as required by certain California Air Pollution Control Districts as well as the 400 g/L VOC maximum required by the U.S. EPA Architectural Coatings Rule.

USES
BELLATRIX has been specifically formulated to be used on concrete that has been previously densified and hardened. BELLATRIX has been tested on smooth, steel-troweled concrete treated with both LIQUI-HARD and the INDUROSHINE polishing system from W. R. MEADOWS.  The application of BELLATRIX will provide a durable, long-lasting, high gloss, stain-blocking barrier, adding increased abrasion resistance to the concrete surface.

FEATURES/BENEFITS
  • Seals surface and provides optimum gloss.
  • Offers stain protection against many common stain-causing contaminants.
  • Produces a tough, uniform, breathable barrier for improved durability.
  • Dustproofs concrete.
  • Provides excellent blush resistance in damp environments.
  • Applies easily and economically - may be diluted up to 1:1 with clean, potable water for polished concrete.
  • VOC compliant.
  • Protects the finish when used on polished concrete.

APPLICATION
Surface Preparation
…The surface should be clean and free of any bond breaker, release agent, curing compound, residue or other contaminant to ensure optimum performance.

Concrete surface must be at least 28 days old and previously treated with LIQUI-HARD concrete densifier and chemical hardener or the INDUROSHINE system, both from W. R. MEADOWS, or equivalent. NOTE: If a liquid hardener/densifier other than LIQUI-HARD or a polishing system other than INDUROSHINE from W. R. MEADOWS are used, it will be necessary to run a test application using all representative materials PRIOR to a full-scale application. This test application is necessary to ensure the product can be properly applied and that the desired performance and appearance results are achieved under all applicable jobsite conditions. Allow a minimum of 48 hours after completion of the LIQUI-HARD treatment before applying BELLATRIX.

Mixing…Any separation in the container must be redispersed with gentle agitation prior to use. CAUTION: TO AVOID FOAMING, DO NOT MIX EXCESSIVELY.

Application Method…BELLATRIX should be applied at full strength on hardened concrete. BELLATRIX may be diluted up to 1:1 with clean, potable water for application on polished concrete.

An industrial sprayer, such as a Chapin 1949, with a 5916 spray nozzle (or equivalent), delivering 1/10th of a gallon per minute, is recommended. Application equipment must be clean, dry and free of any previously used materials.   After initially spraying the product onto the surface, uniformly spread it with a micro-fiber applicator.  The micro-fiber pad should be pre-wetted with BELLATRIX prior to use, and the product must not be allowed to dry before spreading is complete. Optimum performance is achieved with two (2) uniform coats.  The second coat should be applied at a 90° (right) angle to the first coat, only after the first coat is thoroughly dry – typically six (6) hours after application, depending on temperatures and conditions. NOTE:  Keep surface dry for a minimum of 48 hours after application; full stain blocking ability will not be effective until 72 hours after final application.

Cleanup … While BELLATRIX is still wet, equipment can be cleaned with soap and water. Once dried, the material can be removed with a solvent, such as xylene or toluene.

PRECAUTIONS
KEEP FROM FREEZING.  Due to occasional uncontrollable variations in concrete substrates, application error, etc., BELLATRIX may not block all staining materials in every instance. BELLATRIX is formulated to provide a reasonable amount of time for cleanup and removal of spills. Do not apply when air, material or surface temperatures are expected to fall below 40˚ F (4˚ C) within four hours of completed application.  DO NOT MIX WITH ANY OTHER PRODUCTS.

Stain resistance and gloss will vary with changes in dilution ratios, coverage rates and with the nature of the substrate.  A test area is recommended to verify that the desired appearance and performance is achieved with the intended use conditions.

HEALTH HAZARDS
Direct contact may result in mild irritation. Inhalation may cause irritation of the respiratory tract. Refer to Material Safety Data Sheet for complete health and safety information.

SHELF LIFE (TYPICAL)
One year in original, unopened container.
