JOB SUMMARY:
A general laborer will perform production work such as working in the saw area, operating forklifts and loaders, as well as assisting the coating line. A general laborer may also work and assist in other positions throughout the facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist head saw man with operating saw line
- Operate loader to supply raw materials to production line
- Assist coating crew with coating, banding, and palletizing materials
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
- Assist with inventory control and daily production reporting
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Perform property-tending duties
- Maintain overall acceptable attendance
- Any and all other tasks assigned by management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to follow instructions and direction
- Ability to work at a high pace
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, turn, squat, reach, climb stairs for 8 – 10 hours per day
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
- Ability to read and utilize measuring devices
- Ability to operate simple hand tools
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures (Winter-cold and Summer-hot)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum basic reading and math skills
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent preferred
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
- Forklift operator certification preferred but not required
- Must successfully pass in-house forklift training and certification
