HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING
Flashing and Detailing Membrane System
DESCRIPTION
HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING is a rapid-curing, liquid-applied PUMA-based flashing and detailing membrane. The PUMA technology allows for quick curing, even in temperatures below freezing.
HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING is mixed with HYDROWRAP CATALYST at various quantities depending on the ambient temperature to generate a rapid cure down to 15° F (10° C). Please contact W. R. MEADOWS when installing under 40° F (4° C). Please reference HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING INSTALLATION GUIDE for complete installation and mixing instructions.
USES
HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING provides protection against water infiltration in critical detail areas, such as deck-to-wall intersections, corners, wall-to-wall tie-ins, cracks, joints, and penetrations in both concrete decks and roofing elements. This system will protect the concrete from the damaging effects of chloride, deicing salts, chemicals, gasoline, oils, and anti-freeze. The product can be used on concrete, metal, and exterior-grade wood substrates.
HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING is intended for use with HRM 714 hot-applied waterproofing membrane along with the MEL-ROL® line of membranes from W. R. MEADOWS. In addition, HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING is also designed for use with MEL-DEK, HYDRASTOP SA, HYDRALASTIC 836, HYDRALASTIC 836 SL, and VERTIBARRIER NS waterproofing membranes from W. R. MEADOWS.
This product is chemically compatible with AIR-SHIELD, AIR-SHIELD LMP, AIR-SHIELD TMP, AIR-SHIELD LSR, AIR-SHIELD LIQUID FLASHING, AIR-SHIELD BUTYL FLASHING and BEM termination sealant from W. R. MEADOWS.

APPLICATION
Surface Preparation
Concrete Metal Surfaces … Concrete shall be cured and at 3000 psi (2 MPa) minimum compressive strength or as specified by the licensed design professional of record. Moisture content in the concrete must be lower than 6% as measured with equipment, such as a Tramex CME 4 moisture meter. New and existing concrete that has been power troweled requires shot blasting or mechanical abrading to achieve a surface profile of CSP-3. Wood float or broom finished concrete is acceptable for HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING. For proper concreting methods, refer to the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) technical guideline #310.2R-2013. All surfaces must be clean, dry, frost-free, and smooth. Remove any sharp protrusions and repair all defects. Coverage rate may reduce over higher surface profiles.
Metal Surfaces … Follow standard SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2 Near White Blast Cleaning. This near-white metal blast cleaned surface shall be free of all visible oil, grease, dust, dirt, mill scale, rust, coating, oxides, corrosion products, and foreign matter.
Wood Surfaces … Wood must be minimum 5/8” (15.9 mm) exterior-grade plywood with “A”-side up and securely fastened with ring shank nails or screws. Proper consideration must be given to joints and movement. Moisture content in the wood must be lower than 6% as measured with a moisture meter.
Application Method … Please refer to the HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING INSTALLATION GUIDELINE for complete installation details prior to installing. Contact W. R. MEADOWS for site-specific recommendations.
Cleanup … Tools and equipment may be cleaned with HYDROWRAP PUMA CLEANER, acetone, or MEK. Read and follow all health and safety instructions on SDS. Wash body with soap and water. Ensure all materials are mixed and cured before disposal, in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Dispose of all packaging in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
ACCESSORIES
HYDROWRAP UNIVERSAL PRIMER is a polymethyl-methacrylate (PMMA) primer for porous and non-porous substrates, including concrete, untreated exterior-grade wood, and metals. The primer will require mixing with HYDROWRAP CATALYST before application. See mix ratio table.

HYDROWRAP MOISTURE-TOLERANT PRIMER is a polymethyl-methacrylate (PMMA) primer for use on damp, non-metal substrates.
HYDROWRAP CATALYST is a peroxide curative mixed with HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING, HYDROWRAP UNIVERSAL PRIMER, and HYDROWRAP MOISTURE-TOLERANT PRIMER to react and cure the flashing system.
HYDROWRAP PUMA CLEANER is a liquid methyl methacrylate-based cleaner used for cleaning as well to reactivate overlap surfaces.
LIMITATIONS/PRECAUTIONS
Apply HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING in dry conditions at air, surface, and membrane temperatures between 15° – 85° F (-10 to 48.8° C). Care should be taken not to install product in direct sunlight at elevated temperatures above 85° F (48.8° C) as this will affect curing of the installed product. Application in direct sun may cause tackiness and improper curing. Minimum application temperature is 15° F (-10° C) and rising. Please contact W. R. MEADOWS when installing under 40° F (4° C). After precipitation events, allow a minimum of 24 hours for drying before installation.
If not properly catalyzed or mixed thoroughly, HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING will not cure. (It will remain tacky with heavy odor). The product must be completely removed by scraping and wiping with HYDROWRAP PUMA CLEANER prior to reinstallation.
Use with adequate ventilation and an appropriate respirator designed to filter organic solvents and acrylic monomers. Consult respirator manufacturer for appropriateness prior to use.
Not for use over expanded polystyrene, extruded polystyrene, poured in place gypsum, lightweight insulating concrete, cementitious wood fiber decks and coal tar pitch.
Do not apply in rain or when precipitation is imminent. Do not thin. Do not store in direct sunlight for prolonged periods. Substrate must be at least 5 °F (3 °C) above the measured dew point temperatures to avoid surface dew conditions.
