WATERSTOP LIQUID HPW is a one-component, gun-grade polyurethane hydrophilic waterstop designed to help seal non-moving construction joints, cold joints, pipe penetrations, and cable wall inlets in concrete construction. When it comes into contact with water, it expands to help block water migration at vulnerable points in the structure. It can be applied vertically or horizontally, bonds well to concrete, metal, and PVC, and stays elastic after curing, making it useful for detailing joints and penetrations where a pre-applied waterstop is needed.
This product is commonly used as a secondary waterproofing measure behind the primary positive-side waterproofing system in cast-in-place slabs, construction joints, sheet piles, and similar below-grade applications. It can also be used as an adhesive when installing standard WATERSTOP HPW. With easy gun application, strong adhesion, and high swelling capacity, WATERSTOP LIQUID HPW helps support long-term joint sealing in concrete and reinforced concrete assemblies.

Polyurethane Hydrophilic Waterstop
DESCRIPTION
WATERSTOP LIQUID HPW is a one-component polyurethane sealant that swells up to 500% when in contact with water. It is a gun-grade hydrophilic waterstop used for construction joints, pipe, or cable wall inlets. It has excellent swelling capability with superior water-stopping performance over the service life of the structure.
USES
WATERSTOP LIQUID HPW is pre-applied to provide a negative-side waterproofing contingency should the primary positive-side waterproofing fail in applications including cast-in-place slabs, pipe penetrations, construction joints, sheet piles, and cold joints. It can be applied both vertically and horizontally. It is also used to seal non-moving construction or cold joints against water migration in concrete and reinforced concrete construction. WATERSTOP LIQUID HPW has superior performance when used under conditions of extreme hydrostatic pressure. The waterstop is also be used as an adhesive when installing the standard WATERSTOP HPW.

STORAGE AND HANDLING
When stored indoors and in original, unopened containers at temperatures between 40° – 90° F (4° – 32° C), shelf life is one year from date of manufacture. Protect from moisture.
COVERAGE
3/8” x 3/8” (9.5 x 9.5 mm) bead yields 21.5 ft.2 (2 m2) per 20 oz. (592 mL) sausage.
APPLICATION
Surface Preparation… Ensure surfaces are free from protrusions and debris. No primer is required. Compatibility tests with all surfaces are recommended. WATERSTOP LIQUID HPW may be installed after removal of forms and prior to the subsequent concrete placement. Minimum application temperature is 40° F (4° C) and rising.
Application Method… Apply WATERSTOP HPW onto vertical and horizontal construction joints and recessed a minimum of 3” (76.2 mm) from outside surfaces.
For rough concrete, apply WATERSTOP LIQUID HPW to fill voids and provide additional adhesion to prevent water or concrete from seeping under WATERSTOP HPW.
