FLOOR-TOP® STG PRIMER
Surface Treatment Primer
DESCRIPTION
FLOOR-TOP STG PRIMER is a high solids, undiluted surface treatment primer to be used with FLOOR-TOP STG standard traffic grade, self-leveling floor topping and underlayment from W. R. MEADOWS.
USES
FLOOR-TOP STG PRIMER should be used on concrete substrates to help ensure that the substrate is sealed to avoid blistering, bubbles, pinholes, and other surface defects from forming the floor topping. FLOOR-TOP STG PRIMER is also designed to aid in the adhesion of the floor topping to the properly prepared concrete substrate.
FEATURES/BENEFITS
- Easy to apply.
- Concentrate formulation – 2:1 yield.
- Conditions the concrete substrate to help avoid surface defects in the finished FLOOR-TOP STG.
- Aids in adhesion to concrete substrates.
- Fully compatible with FLOOR-TOP STG.
PACKAGING
1 Gallon (3.79 Liter) Units (4/Carton)
5 Gallon (18.9 Liter) Pails
COVERAGE
Coverage is 200 – 400 ft.2 (5 – 10 m2/L) per diluted gal., depending on porosity of surface.
SHELF LIFE
When stored indoors in original, unopened containers at temperatures between 40° – 90° F (4° – 32° C), optimum performance and best use is obtained within one year of date of manufacture.

TECHNICAL DATA
VOC Content: 0 g/L
APPLICATION
Repair concrete sub-floor with MEADOW-CRETE® repair products 24 hours prior to application of FLOOR-TOP STG. Fill all non-moving, dry cracks with REZI-WELD™ LV immediately prior to application of FLOOR-TOP STG.
Surface Preparation … Prepare concrete substrate in accordance with ICRI Technical Guideline No 310.2-1997: Specifying Concrete Surface Preparation for Sealers, Coatings, and Polymer Overlays. Apply only when temperature is 65° F (18.3° C) and rising.
Mechanically roughen the existing concrete substrate to an ICRI concrete surface profile (CSP) of CSP-3 or higher. Remove all unsound concrete and provide a profiled, porous surface. The substrate must also be structurally sound, dust-free, and free of grease, oil, dirt, curing compounds, release agents, or any other surface or penetrated contaminants, coatings, or similar materials that will adversely affect the bond. Sanding or wire-brushing are not approved surface preparation methods.
Concrete floors should have fully achieved designed compressive strength.
Mixing … The diluted primer should be mixed prior to use.
Application Method … Dilute the high solids FLOOR-TOP STG PRIMER by 1 to 1 by volume with cool, potable water. One gallon (3.78 L) of undiluted primer will yield two gallons (7.57 L) of usable primer. Apply FLOOR-TOP STG PRIMER at a rate of 200 ft.2/gal. (5 m2/L) using a roller or garden-type sprayer.
Two applications of the diluted primer may be needed depending on substrate porosity. If two coats are required, allow the first coat of diluted primer to completely dry prior to application of second coat. Also, allow diluted primer to completely dry prior to application of FLOOR-TOP STG.
Drying Time … The dry time will vary with temperature and humidity, but is typically 1 – 3 hours.
PRECAUTIONS
This a not a standalone document. FLOOR-TOP STG PRIMER must be used in conjunction with the FLOOR-TOP STG data sheet recommendations and limitations. Do not puddle or pool the diluted primer. The diluted primer must be used within 72 hours after dilution; any remaining diluted primer must be discarded in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Do not apply FLOOR-TOP STG PRIMER below 65° F (18.3° C) or above 90° F (32.2° C). Protect from freezing. Designed for interior, dry applications. Do not use in exterior applications. REZI-WELD LV from W. R. MEADOWS may be used as a primer for certain applications. Reference the Primer Usage Chart available at www.wrmeadows.com for proper choice of primer based on substrate type.
