PARGE-ALL AF
Architectural Finishing Mortar
DESCRIPTION
PARGE-ALL AF is a single-component, polymer-modified, aggregate-free cementitious feather-finishing architectural mortar. PARGE-ALL AF contains specialized fillers, additives, and polymers that ensure a strong bond and smooth finish, which may be sanded. PARGE-ALL AF is ready to use; mix with water only. It dries to a smooth, light gray color to hide surface defects and blemishes. PARGE-ALL AF leaves a finish that is suitable for architectural coatings. PARGE-ALL AF may be trowel-applied, sponge-floated, or sanded.
USES
PARGE-ALL AF is designed to resurface, repair, renovate, and restore existing and new concrete structures. PARGE-ALL AF is specifically designed for rubbing, smoothing, and filling minor voids, bug holes, and resurfacing concrete. The product is specially designed for use in the tilt-up, precast, or cast-in-place concrete construction market. PARGE-ALL AF is recommended for vertical and overhead concrete applications. It may be used for horizontal applications as a trowel-applied finishing material below standard flooring systems.
PACKAGING
40 Lb. (18.2 kg) Bags
10 Lb. (4.5 kg) Pails (6/Case)
COVERAGE/YIELD
40 lb. (18.2 kg) bag yields 0.380 ft.³ (0.0107 m³) and covers approximately 38 ft.2 @ 1/8″ (3.53 m2 @ 3.175 mm).
10 lb. (4.5 kg) pail yields 0.095 ft.³ (0.0027 m³) and covers approximately 9.5 ft.2 @ 1/8″ (0.88 m2 @ 3.175 mm).
SHELF LIFE
18 months in unopened containers stored on pallets at 730 F (22.780 C). High humidity and temperature will decrease shelf life.

COLOR
PARGE-ALL AF is a light grayish cement color. Finished appearance may be enhanced by use of a standard colorant designed for concrete or cementitious materials. PARGE-ALL AF may be painted or coated with products that are designed for use with ordinary Portland cement concrete. Variations in color and shade can be expected in final cured appearance.
APPLICATION
Surface Preparation … Mechanically roughen or high pressure water-jet the existing substrate to remove all unsound concrete and provide a profiled surface. The substrate must be structurally sound and free of grease, oil, dirt, curing compounds, release agents, or any other surface or penetrated contaminants that will adversely affect the bond. Prepared surface must be dust-free, having a roughened profile to ensure adequate mechanical lock. Substrate must be saturated surface dry (SSD) and free of standing water. Sanding, wire-brushing, or grinding are not approved surface preparation methods.
Mixing … Starting with a mortar-type mixer, add 3.45 quarts (3.26 L) of clean, cool water per 40 lb. (18.2 kg) bag. Slowly add powder and mix to desired consistency, using up to 0.5 additional quarts (0.473 L) of clean water as needed. Mix for three minutes or until lump-free consistency is obtained. Do not over-mix. For small repairs, mix in a clean vessel using a variable-speed drill with a JIFFY® type mixer at 400 – 600 rpm. Mix only complete bags. Do not mix more material than can be placed and finished in 20 minutes at 73° F (22.78° C). Never re-temper.
Placement … Maximum application thickness is 1/8″ (3.175 mm). For deeper repairs, please refer to the MEADOW-CRETE® and MEADOW-PATCH® products from W. R. MEADOWS. Apply PARGE-ALL AF by placing it and compacting well against the properly saturated and prepared substrate. Finish surface with a steel trowel, wood float, or sponge float. When placing by trowel or float, it may be necessary to force the material into the cracks, voids, bug holes, and honeycomb areas.
Finishing … PARGE-ALL AF may be smoothed, trowel-applied, or sponge-floated prior to material setting hard. PARGE-ALL AF may be mechanically sanded after final cure. PARGE-ALL AF will typically cure in 24 hours [(730 F (22.780 C) and 50% RH] and may be painted or coated with products designed for concrete use. Protect from rain or excess water for 24 hours.
Curing … Wet curing is recommended for 24 hours when conditions exist for early water loss, such as, but not limited to, high temperature [95° F (35° C)], high winds, direct sun, and/or low humidity. Do not use solvent-based curing compounds.
PRECAUTIONS
PARGE-ALL AF shall not be used without cover of a standard flooring system. Maximum application thickness is 1/8″ (3.175 mm). Do not apply below 40° F (4.44° C), above 95° F (35° C), or when rain is imminent. Do not bridge moving cracks. Do not add any admixtures. Exceeding liquid requirements shall result in reduced physical properties. Realize that set time will decrease as the product, air, substrate, and mixing liquid temperature increase and set time will increase as the temperature decreases. Do not use solvent-based curing compounds. Follow these additional procedures if hot or cold weather conditions exist: Standard on Hot Weather Concreting, ACI 305-R89; or Standard on Cold Weather Concreting, ACI 306-R88. Protect from conditions that may cause early water loss: high winds, low humidity, high temperature, direct sunlight. Failure to follow industry standard practices may result in decreased material performance. Proper application is the responsibility of the user. Field visits by W. R. MEADOWS personnel are for the purpose of making technical recommendations only, and are not to supervise or provide quality control on the jobsite.
