Happy July 4th!

We’d like to take a minute and wish all our partners and customers in the U.S. a happy and safe 4th of July weekend.  Whether you sell, specify, or apply our product, we thank you for your business and patronage.

W. R. Meadows truly is a great American success story.  Our humble beginning was in 1926, when the founder of the company, W.R. “Bob” Meadows, pioneered the creation of concrete expansion joint fillers.  Installing these fillers in periodic intervals in concrete absorbed the stresses of concrete as it expanded and shrank due to the freeze/thaw cycle.  These fillers allowed concrete to last longer and helped prevent cracking and damage.

Since 1926, the company expanded into other areas, such as concrete curing compounds, underslab waterproofing and vaporproofing products, and joint sealants that are used in conjunction with expansion joint fillers.  Today, we offer products in several CSI MasterFormat divisions, including 3, 4, 7, and 32.

We’ve also expanded in scope.  From our lone office in Elgin, Illinois, we now have locations in several parts of North America, including California, Texas, and Ontario.

We couldn’t have achieved this success without the support of contractors, architects, engineers, building owners, and distributors.  Again, we thank you for your support.

To this day, we are a family-owned and operated company.  Four generations of the Meadows family have been involved with the day-to-day operation of the company.  We truly are a great example of the American dream.
