In this application of CEM-KOTE® FLEX ST, the engineer wanted to waterproof this reservoir with a product that would meet the NSF Standard 61, which is what the regional municipality wanted and needed. CEM-KOTE FLEX ST does meet this requirement so it was a natural solution.
CEM-KOTE FLEX ST is a highly flexible, fiber-reinforced, breathable, cementitious slurry, consisting of dry Component A and liquid Component B. CEM-KOTE FLEX ST is designed for positive and negative waterproofing of concrete structures in new construction and restoration. It is suitable for water and wastewater tanks, secondary containment structures, tunnels, concrete slabs, balconies and patios with light to medium traffic.
The GEMITE®-approved applicator applied CEM-KOTE FLEX ST by spraying. One of the advantages of CEM-KOTE FLEX ST is that it can be applied by sprayer or brush, allowing applicators to choose which application method would better suit the project’s needs.
An engineer was hired to perform pull-tests on various areas of the reservoir to ensure CEM-KOTE FLEX ST met the strengths required. All the pull-tests came back above the requirements.
The interesting point in the pull-tests was the fact that the walls were formed using a technique that leaves a very smooth, tight finish. An engineering firm did an independent test several years ago and applied the CEM-KOTE FLEX ST and any and all competitive products to a similarly designed mockup. The only product that passed this pull-test was CEM-KOTE FLEX ST.
W. R. MEADOWS was proud to take part in this project and testing. Our product managed to do the job, and even surpassed expectations. This interesting project not only shows how well CEM-KOTE FLEX ST performs, but also the ease of application.
