CS-309™-25 OTC
Non-Yellowing, Acrylic Curing and Sealing Compound
DESCRIPTION
CS-309-25 OTC acrylic curing and sealing compound designed for freshly poured concrete, is a clear, transparent, ready-to-apply, non-yellowing liquid compound formulated with special acrylic polymers and VOC-exempt solvents that effectively cures and seals freshly placed concrete.
Once properly applied, CS-309-25 OTC provides a premium-grade film for optimum moisture retention. CS-309-25 OTC will minimize hair checking as well as premature cracking, dusting, spalling, and other common defects that result when concrete is not properly cured. This easy-to-use compound dries quickly and protects the concrete during construction.
USES
CS-309-25 OTC is can be used for application on commercial and industrial concrete surfaces, sidewalks, patios, multi-level parking decks, driveways, and parking areas … wherever you want to simultaneously cure and seal exterior concrete surfaces. The use of CS-309-25 OTC on exterior concrete surfaces provides a durable, long-lasting finish that offers improved resistance to chemicals, oil, grease, de-icing salts, and abrasion. CS-309-25 OTC provides an attractive, glossy finish that enhances the natural appearance of the concrete.
For interior applications, specify and apply VOCOMP®-20 or VOCOMP-25 curing and sealing compound from W. R. MEADOWS.

APPLICATION
Surface Preparation
Fresh (New) Concrete … Apply as soon as all surface water has disappeared and the concrete surface will not be marred by walking workers.
Application Method… Use a sprayer or short-nap roller to apply a uniform film. Avoid puddling in low areas. If puddles occur, brush or roll them out. A standard industrial-grade sprayer, such as a Chapin 19069, equipped with Viton fittings and a spray nozzle that produces a flow of 0.5 GPM (1.9 LPM) under 40 psi (0.276 MPa) of pressure is recommended.
Mixing … For optimum performance, gentle mixing or agitation is recommended. CAUTION: TO AVOID FOAMING, DO NOT MIX EXCESSIVELY.
Drying Time… Product dries quickly. Drying times will vary depending on application rate, temperature, humidity, and project conditions. Restrict foot traffic for at least four hours. Twelve hours is preferable.
Cleanup… Clean tools after use with a solvent such as xylol, toluol, or SEALTIGHT® CLEANER from W. R. MEADOWS.
LIMITATIONS/PRECAUTIONS
Coating is to be applied without dilution or thinning. For exterior application only. Block all HVAC ventilation ducts which may spread product odor. Use with adequate ventilation and keep away from open flame. For existing, aged or cured concrete, TIAH® OTC or TIAH 100 from W. R. MEADOWS is recommended. If odor is objectionable, use of DECRA-SEAL™ W/B or the VOCOMP® series from W. R. MEADOWS is suggested. Surfaces treated with CS-309-25 OTC may become slippery under certain conditions. To increase slip resistance, add SURE-STEP™ additive from W. R. MEADOWS to the product.
Product should not be applied during high temperature conditions in direct sunlight. These conditions cause rapid evaporation, which does not allow the film to form properly. Under these conditions, the film may peel, bubble, and/or turn white (blush). Surface temperature of the concrete must be between 40° – 90° F (4° – 32° C).
Product should not be applied to concrete exposed to excessive moisture. Entrapped moisture in a solvent-based curing and sealing compound may cause the film to peel and/or turn white (blush). Over application may result in the finished film appearing hazy or white.
Product may be used on colored concrete, but mottling may occur. Do not use on dense or non-porous surfaces, i.e. brick, stone, etc. Concrete containing calcium chloride will remain dark longer when treated with this product.
In states that have VOC regulations rules written based on OTC Phase II model for architectural coatings, this product is prohibited from use on existing, aged or cured concrete as a sealer, but still permissible for use on fresh concrete as a concrete curing and sealing compound.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Prolonged inhalation of vapors in excess of permissible exposure limits may result in symptoms of transient central nervous system depression. Direct contact with the product may result in irritation of the skin and eyes. Product vapors may also cause irritation. CS-309-25 OTC is flammable. Remove ignition sources prior to use. Empty containers may hold flammable vapors. Handle empty containers as flammable liquids. In the event of a spill, contain the product, apply absorbents, and place in sealed containers. In the event of a fire, contain all run-off water. Refer to Safety Data Sheet for complete health and safety information.
