HYDROWRAP CATALYST
PUMA Flashing System Initiator
DESCRIPTION
HYDROWRAP CATALYST is a reactive agent powder used to initiate curing of the HYDROWRAP PUMA system from W. R. MEADOWS.
USES
HYDROWRAP CATALYST is mixed with HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING, HYDROWRAP UNIVERSAL PRIMER, and HYDROWRAP MOISTURE-TOLERANT PRIMER before use of those products.
FEATURES/BENEFITS
- Universally for use with all HYDROWRAP products
- Easy application with separate tubs and measuring scope
PACKAGING
7 lb. (3.18 kg) Pails
Each pail contains two 3.5 lb. (1.75 kg) bags with a 1 oz. (29.57 mL) measuring scoop
COVERAGE/YIELD
7 lb. (3.18 kg) tub will yield approximately 144 oz. (4.26 L).
SHELF LIFE
When stored indoors and in original, unopened containers at temperatures between 40 – 77° F (4 – 25° C), shelf life is six months from date of manufacture.
APPLICATION
For detailed mixing instructions, refer to the individual data sheet for each HYDROWRAP product. The HYDROWRAP CATALYST mix ratio requirement is based on the average of the material, ambient, and substrate temperatures at the time of mixing. Conditions may vary throughout the day, especially when applying in direct sunlight. Adjust the mix ratio as needed to ensure adequate working time.
Mixing … The HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING system and HYDROWARP CATALYST must be thoroughly mixed using an electric slow-speed (300 – 400 rpm) high-torque drill with a clean spiral mixing paddle (Jiffy type, size according to material amount mixed) to achieve a uniform distribution of the catalyst and paraffin contained in the product.
- Pre-mix HYDROWRAP PUMA product for 1 – 2 minutes; longer at colder temperatures.
- Mix HYDROWRAP PUMA product together with HYDROWRAP CATALYST for one minute minimum
LIMITATIONS/PRECAUTIONS
Always use full amount of catalyst required. Not using full amount of required catalyst will cause improper cure and tackiness that cannot be remedied without complete mechanical removal of the under-catalyzed material. Never mix product in direct sun over 90° F (32.2° C), as this will cause the components to improperly react, resulting in the material remaining tacky and unusable.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Before using HYDROWRAP CATALYST, refer to safety data sheet (SDS). Ensure the same safe working methods are followed for all persons in the work area. Wear suitable protective clothing, butyl rubber or nitrile gloves, and safety goggles with side shields during mixing and application. If OSHA PELs are exceeded, appropriate personal protective equipment should be utilized.
HYDROWRAP CATALYST has a low flash point. Never store or expose above 125° F (51° C). Keep away from all sources of ignition. Uncured polymers, resins, and catalyst powder may be toxic. They may cause allergic or hypersensitivity reactions.
