HYDROWRAP MOISTURE-TOLERANT PRIMER is a two-component MMA-based primer designed for damp concrete and masonry surfaces prior to applying HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING. It bonds effectively to moist cementitious substrates where traditional primers may fail, helping ensure strong adhesion and consistent membrane performance—even in challenging field conditions.
This primer cures rapidly, even in colder temperatures, and can be overcoated in as little as 45 minutes. Mixed with HYDROWRAP CATALYST, it applies easily with a roller or brush and meets all major VOC regulations across North America. Ideal for jobs with limited dry time or surfaces that can’t fully dry out, HYDROWRAP MOISTURE-TOLERANT PRIMER helps keep installations on track without compromising performance.

DESCRIPTION
HYDROWRAP MOISTURE-TOLERANT PRIMER is a two-component, methyl-methacrylate (MMA) primer used with HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING from W. R. MEADOWS. HYDROWRAP MOISTURE TOLERANT PRIMER is mixed with the HYDROWRAP CATALYST (which is supplied separately).

SHELF LIFE
When stored indoors and in original, unopened containers at temperatures between 40 – 95° F (4 – 35° C), shelf life is one year from date of manufacture.

- Complies with all current federal, state, and local maximum allowable VOC requirements, including U.S. EPA, LADCO, SCAQMD, and OTC Phase I and II.
APPLICATION
This data sheet is not a standalone installation guide. HYDROWRAP MOISTURE-TOLERANT PRIMER is used as part of the HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING system. Please follow all instructions for use as outlined in the HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING INSTALLATION GUIDELINE based on the specific project requirements.
Surface Preparation … Substrate, air, and material temperatures must be between 32° – 90° F (0° – 32.2° C). Concrete should be water cured and has attained a 3000 psi (20.7 MPa) minimum compressive strength. Cementitious substrates may be damp but have no standing or free water on the surface. Excess moisture in the concrete can prevent the coating materials from performing as intended.
Mixing … Premix HYDROWRAP MOISTURE-TOLERANT PRIMER for 1 – 2 minutes; longer at colder temperatures. Combine HYDROWRAP MOISTURE-TOLERANT PRIMER thoroughly together with HYDROWRAP CATALYST in accordance with the temperature chart below for an additional 1 – 2 minutes.

Application Method … Apply HYDROWRAP MOISTURE-TOLERANT PRIMER at a minimum of 100 ft.²/gal. (2.45 m2/L) to yield 16 wet mils with a medium nap roller or brush to the entire area to be detailed with HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING. Installations less than 16 mils wet may cause improper curing. If penetration of primer into porous concrete occurs, reapply wet into wet until a uniform complete wet film is achieved.
Drying Time … Allow HYDROWRAP MOISTURE-TOLERANT PRIMER to cure for 45 minutes or until fully cured, prior to installation of HYDROWRAP PUMA FLASHING.
LIMITATIONS/PRECAUTIONS
Product should be used outdoors only. maximum storage temperature is 77° F (25° C). Avoid direct contact as well as inhalation of vapors. Use appropriate personal protective equipment.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Highly flammable liquid and vapors. Avoid contact with sources of ignition. If OSHA PELs are exceeded, appropriate personal protective equipment should be utilized. Direct contact with eyes/skin may result in mild to moderate irritation. Skin sensitization may also occur with repeated exposures. Inhalation may result in irritation to the respiratory tract. Repeated/long-term exposures may result in permanent damage and be potentially fatal. Consult SDS for complete health and safety information.
