Bala Cyn Wyd Public Library

In this application at the Bala Cyn Wyd Public Library, AIR-SHIELD LSR was chosen by Vitetta architects as an above grade air/vapor barrier.

For the 5,000 square foot project, AIR-SHIELD LSR was selected after it was determined that a UV resistant barrier was needed. AIR-SHIELD LM was originally specified, but when it was discovered that the application of barrier would be pushed into the dead of winter and the product would be exposed to the elements for 2-3 months, AIR-SHIELD LSR was determined to be a better fit. AIR-SHIELD LSR can be exposed to Ultraviolet light for up to four months. When the sub-contractor, Luke Adams of Adams Properties, presented AIR-SHIELD LSR, he was granted immediate approval.

The product also called for MEL-PRIME W/B Adhesive and AIR-SHIELD THRU-WALL FLASHING at all inside and outside corners. Using the AIR-SHIELD THRU-WALL FLASHING helped the applicator maintain proper mil thickness in the corners.
