When the Minneapolis Veterans Home in Minnesota was in their final stage of its multiple phase, 8-year renovation project, W. R. MEADOWS was proud of the role it played in updating and modernizing Building #22, the 141,800 square foot building comprised of 100 private veterans living quarters, a new skilled nursing facility, resident great rooms, a putting green, and many more sought-after amenities.
After using W. R. MEADOWS’ MEL-ROL in the past, Todd Smiley, a project manager at Exterior Building Services (EBS) who was in charge of the installation of air barriers throughout every phases of the Minneapolis Veterans Home project, decided to use the air barrier products and solutions proposed to him by Mike Krulas, W. R. MEADOWS sales representative. W. R. MEADOWS products were used on approximately 73,000 square feet on the building installed over the course of more than 6 months. The project presented many complex air barrier challenges including areas in need of extensive detailing and a limited working space. In addition to these physical trials, the stakes were raised when the project was set to receive an Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA) Quality Assurance Program (QAP) Certification. Even after facing problems with some of the poured concrete walls that were not suitable to receive an air barrier, Mike Krulas was able to navigate the project to success. In addition to superior customer service, EBS was also pleased with the W. R. MEADOWS products themselves.
