CEM-KOTE FLEX ST provided chemical resistance and rapid return to service for this seismic retrofit project to strengthen granular media filters in a drinking water treatment plant. The existing walls were thickened with an 8” layer of new reinforced concrete. CEM-KOTE FLEX ST was effectively applied by both spray and brush methods within seven days of concrete placement. The corner coves were created using MEADOW-CRETE GPS and reinforced with a strip of REINFORCING FABRIC HD and CEM-KOTE FLEX ST. Drying shrinkage cracks were treated with REINFORCING FABRIC HD. The ability to apply CEM-KOTE FLEX ST to green concrete was a huge time saver on this project and allowed these critical facilities to return to serve with a minimum of downtime.
