At W. R. MEADOWS, providing education content for the proper application and maintenance of our products is of considerable importance. Housed on our website are dozens of guidelines and bulletins intended to help our customers install our products correctly and with ease. These items are a great tool to help learn about the proper application and maintenance of our wide line of products.
We’ve recently updated our Exterior Sheathing Panels Installation Guidelines for AIR-SHIELD LSR. This guideline provides information regarding the recommended treatment of joints in exterior sheathing panels (drywall and glass-faced) when using AIR-SHIELD LSR.
AIR-SHIELD LSR (liquid synthetic rubber) is an asphalt-free, single-component, synthetic rubber based liquid air/vapor and liquid moisture barrier. AIR-SHIELD LSR cures to form a tough, seamless, elastomeric membrane, which exhibits excellent resistance to air and moisture transmission. AIR-SHIELD LSR has been specifically formulated to act as an air/vapor and liquid moisture barrier within the building envelope. It may be applied to most common surfaces and integrated into various wall systems. AIR-SHIELD LSR is suitable for both new construction and restoration.
The installation instructions for the joint treatment of exterior sheathing panels are available on our website and can be printed or downloaded. (A handy PDF is also available.) We also have a page where you can view all our available installation guidelines. If you have any questions during installation, or if your set of circumstances is different than what the document indicates, please contact our Technical Services team for assistance, or comment below.
