The new amenities include a spacious locker room, which is 53 yards wide and features cold and hot hydrotherapy pools and a sauna. A highlight of the second-floor players’ lounge is a barber shop. The redesigned coaches’ offices will give more space to coordinators and the graduate assistants. Additionally, fans will be able to enjoy a new Hall of Fame on the ground floor and The Terrace — a party deck featuring local food and beverages — during games.
In all, the project will add nearly 38,000 square feet and renovate nearly 26,000 square feet of existing space to bring the Valley Football Center’s size to about 119,000 square feet. OSU coach Gary Andersen said the facility played a big role in recruiting. He called it a highlight of Oregon State’s facilities.
It’s way different and it’s different because it’s nice. And when you play in the Pac-12, you deserve nice things, that’s my opinion. I think you deserve nice things if you are a student-athlete, period, and you’re playing in the Pac-12 Conference and we have those now, which is awesome,” Andersen said.
